In 2008, while undergoing treatment for breast cancer, karla morton produced two works that she is now actively seeking publication for.

making lemonade

The first, Stirring Goldfish, is a collection of original Sufi poetry written by morton during her diagnosis and treatment for cancer. Sufi poetry emerged around the year 1200 in Afghanistan, and the Sufis believe that love is the greatest thing of all...the only thing you can take with you from this world to the next. Sufi poetry is a mix of the sensual and the spiritual, based on the Sufis' belief that one must know the love of the physical world before they can truly know the love of God, who morton addresses in Stirring Goldfish as "My Beloved."

morton's Redefining Beauty is a collaboration of poetry and photos created to encourage women in chemotherapy and to assure them that their true beauty remains.

Look for more information coming soon about the publication and release of these 2 books, both created as an inspiring tool (for the writer and reader) to make lemonade out of the difficult lemons in life.
